I bought one when I took a trip to Europe. If you have ever drove in Europe with just a map, then you already
know what I mean (It's NOT a good thing). The streets are labeled horribly, and there are no arrows on the freeway
signs. There seems to be very little to no stop lights, and there are seemingly millions of turn arounds.
But before I went prime time in Europe, I tried it out in California. I used it to get from my home to work, and
I tested it from Los Angeles to San Jose. I found the unit worked like a charm. I even used the extended features
such as waypoints and traffic points. I used these to get things such as food and gas. Also, the satellite
acquisition was super fast. Even in a tunnel, it only took two seconds. It takes twenty seconds to get going after
it's been off for a couple of days. Also, I found the screen to be bright and the voice that emtts is quite loud.
At the end of the day, it works just fine.
When we got to Italy, the satellite took 5-10 minutes to pick up the satellite. But then again, it had to make
an adjustment from 8000 miles of its set starting point. I did use it in the U.S first! So that meant that the
signal had to go the U.S. and then back to me in Italy. I found that the traffic function worked just fine in
Europe. This amazes me because these are only supposed to be for the US. None of the ads came up in Europe either,
like they do in the U.S.
I used the device to go grocery shopping, gas stations, and pizzarias. I found the maps to be extremely
detailed. There were even pleasant surprises, such as a little private pizza shop off of the main road. This device
worked just as well in Europe as it did in the U.S.
When we got back to the States, it took us around five to ten minutes to get our signal again. But then,
everything went back to normal. I'm recommending this device to anyone who would think about buying it. It's
awesome! The only complaint I have for this is in the power cable that comes from out of the device. You're not
able to just sit the device down without a cradle, but this is so minor.
I think the Garmin Nuvi 1350 LMT is aesthetically pleasing, and it's very accurate. But the buyer should check
to make sure that their local traffic area functions first. I bought the Lifetime Traffic feature. Sadly, this
doesn't work in Frederick County, MD where I live. However, the feature works in Montgomery County, Md. However, it
works a little slow there.
