This is my second model of this unit. I actually still have my 350 European edition with an added US chip. I've
been recommending it to my friends, and a lot of them bought the same model. Since I go to Europe twice a year,
this is crucial for me to have.
I wanted to upgrade to something that would give me both European and US directions, so I upgrade to the 1370
last month. I like it even more than the 350, but it does cost more. I'm going to break it in the next time that I
go to Europe. I love that it has a wide screen and it has flowing smooth graphics. It has has lane warnings and
traffic updates and recommendations, although I don't need these so much because I'm not much of a commuter. I also
think the constant miles per hour display is nifty. I've only tried the bluetooth feature a little, but I like that
it has a one touch dial for any point of interest. I'm interested to try to the altitude device. While there might
not be much to write home about in Michigan, it might come in very handy in Europe.
There's no north indicator that comes with the routine display. This is something that I like about the 350
model. Also, if you want to have a compass, then you should expect to give up another corner display. However, this
is minor.
Let me start with the bad news. Never contact Garmin by phone. I lingered for 45 min before I even got a live
human being! After all of this, I got transferred to someone else, and guess what? They wanted me to wait for this
person for 30 mins! I got frustrated and hung up. I just sent them an email. The other sour point about Garmin is
that all of their many models have too many variations. For example, some of the features that I like on the
$200.00 model don't come on the $450.00 model! The 1370 doesn't have route planning. This is silly to me! The
company also changes the mount every time they introduce a new product. I think they should just stick to the
powered mounts that are already working! However, I bought the 1370 because it was the only unit that had both U.S.
and European maps.
Now, the good part. I found the maps on the 1370 to be a nice upgrade from the older, larger maps on the 330.
The 1370 comes in a nice size, it has a nice large screen, and it calculates fast! It has features such as
pedestrian mode, bluetooth, and Cityxplorer. I called Garmin because their Cityxplorer map only downloaded 50
percent. Hopefully they'll straighten that out before I have to travel again. But I was happy with the unit and I
hope it will work out for me on my next trip.
I've had my Nuvi 1370T for around 2 months. Before this, I was using the Nuvi 370 for a few years. Both of these
units work well. The screen on the 1370 is an upgrade from the 370. But if you need to call customer service, then
gear up to wait a long time and gear up for dissatisfaction. I had to call their customer service because of a
software issue. My so-called customer service rep was unhelpful and actually hostile when I asked questions.
I didn't leave the call with any new information. I figured out how to resolve the issue on my own.
