I think it's an upgrade from the Nuvi 760. I also love that there's no pop up ads (more later)
I'm liking the larger screen, along with the increase in informatinon and its customizable interface. I like
that it comes with an economy mode route. All you need to do is plug in your gas mileage and the cost of your fuel.
It will calculate your fuel cost for every trip. You'll be amazed to find out just how much your trips are costing
you.
I love how it allows you to set a speed limit on road that don't show one. Some of the roads aren't very well
marked.
Auto zoom is another cool feature. When you pick up speed, the unit will zomom out to show you more of what's
around you in the area. It will also show yo what's coming at you. When you slow down, it'll zoom in on the
intersection. They've also improved the animation when you drive and turn corners.
I had to call Garmin's tech support after my 760 map became obsolete. It became obsolete after the recent
update. I have four kids and they all participate in sports around varying areas of town. My wife needed one for
her vehicle while the other unit needed servicing. That's okay; we'll have one for both of our vehicles when the
other unit comes back from servicing.
When I talked to the tech support rep, I found them to be extremely helpful. They talked to me about my 760
unit, and other comparison units. I told her that people hate the pop-up ads. She told me that those ads help to
pay for the unit. If you need a unit that is AD Free, then buy the Garmin GTM 35 Lifetime Traffic Receiver, in the
3700 series. You have to buy this separately. If you pay full price, then you won't have to deal with those
annoying advertisers. I think it's worth paying the extra $50 to be free of the advertisements! I actually paid an
extra $58.00. I'm so glad that I did.

I recently upgraded to a 2450 LM after I used the 750 for about two and a half years. I'm not that thrilled with
the routing that comes with the 2450. When I tried routing several times, I didn't find the shortest or the fastest
route. For example, one route estimated to come to an hour and twenty min. My 750 gave me the routing time that I
expected, which came up to less time. I found that I had to manually enter a turn that cut my travel time down to
54mins. In another instance, my routing from point a to b took me round the way, and out of the way! Routing
backwards from b to a got me a more direct route! Look, the purpose of the PND is to get you where you need to go
as fast and as efficiently as possible. The 2450 doesn't do the greatest job of accomplishing this. I did manage to
get the latest version of the software. But one thing that the 2450 has over the 750 is that it does get the
sattelite lock much quicker.
