Garmin dezl 560LT Customer Reviews

Real Reviews Submitted by Real Users!

I've been working as a OTR truck driver for 4 years. My company integrated the Copilot in the Driver Tech system. It wasn't really working after the 2009 update. So that means that I went without a GPS system since late 2009. I've been using the Rand McNally trucker's atlas, along with Google Maps and company local directions. These methods work, but it takes me a bit longer to plot out my trips.

I needed a better way to track out mileage for my trips. This unit does this very easily for me. After reading the reviews of all of the truck GPS systems out there, I found this one. I was led to this model because I used a Garmin while in Afghanistan for a year. It worked then, so I went back to them now. When I would stop off in various truck stops, I kept asking the other drivers which one they liked. I kept hearing the same name come up. I'm glad that I bought it. I took it out of its box, and had it up and running all in a span of 10 minutes! I didn't even have to read the directions! It's just that easy to use. The only thing about it was the advertisements. I don't mind them that much, but they are noticeable, which I guess it the point. But I have used the advertised coupons for different things, like motels.

I'd recommend all of the Garmin units, including this one. You'll only have to perform updates on this once a year. This is the unit that you should have in your truck when you need to plot your trip, especially if you're still using paper maps.

I haven't used my unit yet, but right off the top, I don't like the beanbag mount. I also wish it had a standard windshield mount. I ordered it yesterday, and they got it right to me today. Imagine that! This was a good thing, cause we had a guy that needed to get on the road, and he needed it unit, so they really came through! The price was right too!

I think it works. It gets you where you need to go. I think a compass would have been a nice touch. I drive a motor coach bus to Chicago, and I don't need the ads to keep popping up when I'm trying to get through the rough Chicago streets. I'm hoping people will join me to complain to Garmin about this issue! If I knew I was going to get hit with ads, I would have gone with another brand.
