Magellan RoadMate 1700 Customer Reviews

Instant happiness is right inside this box! The setup is easy, and the first thing that you are going to find is the beautiful widescreen GPS. This GPS actually has a larger screen than any I've seen, and this definitely makes it easier on the eyes. The speed of the device is also quite amazing! I have owned several GPS devices, and when using them it took several minutes to access the satellite which wasn't exactly convenient on the road. With this one however I found that the access to the satellite was almost instant, and it even had a series of tools that permit you to find your favorite restaurant. Another thing I found impressive and useful regarding this product was the fact that I could select coffee as a food group.

Magellan RoadMate 9055 Customer Reviews

I gave the Magellan RoadMate 9055 a try and so far, it's worked great for me. I ended up taking a wrong turn while I was on a trip and it rerouted me quickly back towards my destination with step by step directions both audibly and on the onscreen map. All of the points of interest you might want are easy to find; hotels, restaurants and just about anything else you might need to find while you're on the road are there, along with phone numbers.

TomTom VIA 1535T Customer Reviews

All my expectations were met by my TomTom VIA GPS.  Its screen is large and easy to read, and the settings are easy to set up to my preferences.  I expected it to give me accurate directions, and it did.  Some GPS systems have a delay before they give you instructions.  That can be bad when you need directions quickly, but this TomTom's verbal instructions were speedy.  You get the next instruction as soon as you leave the freeway or make a turn.

I also think the way the TomTom tells you which lane to be in, so you're ready for the next turn, is very helpful.

TomTom VIA 1505TM Customer Reviews

TomTom XL users will be familiar with the freshened interface and large, bright screen of the TomTom VIA 1505TM.  So far, navigation has been flawless and there's a large lane-assistance database.  One of the features I like best is how the unit shows almost everything I might want by default, including miles until arrival, time until arrival, arrival time, the speed limit, the vehicle's speed and the current time.  My Garmin only let me choose four of these things for it to display.  If you're looking for a new GPS, you can stop looking here, although the VIA isn't necessarily that much better than the XL (unless you don't have the lifetime map updates with your XL) because the interface is basically the same except for an updated appearance.

TomTom VIA 1435T Customer Reviews

I had an older GPS, and I didn't know if this could live up. But this does for sure. I love the screen size and its got good visuals as well. The screen pops up for exits off of the intersection, which can be a lifesaver. I like the voice that comes with it. This is like OnStar. I really love the speed limit corner that comes with this. It will let you know when you are going too fast. Gotta love it! I especially love that it's not falling off my window all of the time too.

TomTom VIA 1405T Customer Reviews

I find that this unit functions just great. I love not getting those advertisements, and I like the lifetime traffic and maps also.

But I do have a complaint. I couldn't find support for this Tom Tom on their website. You also can't purchase additional maps or purchase other voices. You can only update what you have, and that's it. I'm hoping that these will change in the future. When I see that I can update, then I will write more.

TomTom GO 2535TM Customer Reviews

I first tried this GPS unit over a long weekend of winery tours in Washington and Oregon and was thoroughly impressed with the TomTom GO 2535TM's voice recognition features; it made entering addresses quite a bit easier.

Over the course of the weekend I entered perhaps two dozen different addresses all over the two states by voice and the system recognized every one - I didn't even have to touch the screen at all. Particularly since I'm from the UK and speak with a non-US accent, there were often other passengers talking while I was entering addresses, I was very impressed.

TomTom GO 2435TM Customer Reviews

The TomTom GO 2435TM is the first GPS device I've ever bought and it has more than fulfilled my expectations. Its large 4.3" screen is easy to read, it has lifetime traffic and maps with no service contract and most importantly, it's easy to use. The TomTom gives voice announcements of routes, places of interest, highway exists; everything you could want from a GPS unit, in other words. It also has voice recognition (a big plus in my book) and can run on battery power, so it doesn't need to be plugged in all the time. Honestly, I can't think of anything I'd like to see improved here.

Garmin Nuvi 205W Customer Reviews

I've had a a built-in navigation device in my car for several years and I love it, but I decided to try this unit for a rental car I was going to be making use of. Needless to say I was amazed by how easy it was to use, and just how sophisticated it actually was. After all, it only cost a small fraction of my factory installed unit.

This is a very intuitive system as I found out, and the screen is quite easy to read. The accuracy is amazing, and unlike many other systems, I found that this one actually keeps track of your vehicle's current speed.

Garmin Nuvi 465T Customer Reviews

This GPS system is actually the second Garmin device I have purchased, and I do enjoy the ability to switch between my 5th Wheel/Truck Combo and my car. The GPS device takes the dimensions of your vehicle into account and through this it will determine just which route you should actually take. The device is a little expensive, and I wish they would drop that price if only a little, but so far it performs admirably.
