Discount TomTom GPS Online Shops
One of the finest inventions of late that is actually good for something is the portable GPS unit. Whether you are on a long driving trip or simply heading to a new location close to home you are going to love having a GPS to steer you along the way! Have I got a soft spot in my heart for TomTom for some reason? Yes I do, but only because it is the only brand that I've used so far.
My better half and I love going on weekend trips with our children to destinations that we will be able to drive to. Iam the driver and my better half is the navigator, problem is she likes to sleep while I drive. There have been occasions where she's been sleeping and I have missed a turn, and several where we've been confused with the directions we made public on the web. How great it would've been to have a GPS to show us which way to go with nice big arrows and voice prompts!
Portable GPS have been around for a little while now and just keep getting better. Like any other electronics, theyare way overpriced when first released, but now you can get yourself a great GPS unit for a little less than you might think.
One of the first models like the TomTom One XL GPS is still a great buy today, and it's a 3rd of it's original cost. The great thing about GPS is that you can easily update the maps through the TomTom website so that the unit actually never does become outmoded. If youare satisfied with the functionality of the unit and you don't need any of the fancy features of the newest and greatest, then why pay for what you donot need?
If you are a heavy user of a portable GPS and can use all of the awe-inspiring features that are now available then you're in luck. TomTom right now has units such as the Go 740 Live, that will not only steer you to your destination, but you may make hands-free calls via Bluetooth, get real time traffic, gas costs, looking powered by Google through wifi, voice recognition and more!
Should I even get a GPS? So many phones have it built in, whatis the point? Not everybody has acellphone with GPS capabilities, so yup there are plenty of us that need an actual GPS unit. The cool thing about purchasing a conveyable GPS is that you donot have to pay more monthly costs like you would if you upgraded your mobile phone to something with GPS built in. Think about it, $30 additional each month for web on your mobile phone or an one time purchase of $100-200? And if youare looking to save far more, you can pick up a cheap TomTom GPS for even less than that!
The one question that remains is what happens when more people keep getting iPhones and others like androids that have inbuilt GPS in the phone? No need for another cartable GPS… Does this signal the end of TomTom, Garmin and others? Only time will let us know for sure!
